What we look for:
Generally, we look for people who are friendly, responsible, conscientious and, open-minded. We
Re not neat freaks but we ask that guests keep common areas tidy. You don't have to be social... but good communication is expected as well as adherence to the house rules.
Speaking of rules...
The dangers presented by Covid-19 have altered the way we approach some of our house rules, and in turn what we look for in potential roomies. For a house that values personal freedom... it's been very weird to have to keep our roommates informed about what we are up to... where they are working... Where we are hanging out and with whom. It's a drag... and not our preference... but both of us have people in our lives with suppressed immune systems, so we need to be careful what risks we and our roommates take. All that said, we are NOT on a full lock-down. We have a system to limit the risks to the "Household Bubble" while still being to spend quality time with friends, family, and romantic partners. This is only possible if we have roommates willing to follow rules for behavior inside AND outside the home. We think some people (probably too many) don't take this pandemic seriously... but also think some people have gone overboard and are living a way that is not really sustainable. We are committed to finding a sweet spot somewhere in the middle.
